Drug and alcohol rehabilitation

Rose Charities has linked with another organisation - 'RIC', in Nepal in Bhairahawa, which is close to the border with India. In this area drugs trafficking is prevalent. Also because of the large migrant worker population there is a major sex trade with many of the female workers. 'RIC - Rose' assists these vulnerable groups by counseling, harm reduction and prevention-awareness programs. Currently 25 beds are available for the treatment and rehabilitation of drug dependent individuals, although there is a great need for more.

Techniques used are 'Harm Reduction,' self realization through meditation and autonomy. Patients include those with HIV/AIDS, non-dependent and dependent drug users etc.

The RIC - Rose team has special experience in the field of drug treatment and rehabilitation as well as in HIV care and support, having worked in these areas for 10 years. The team now includes those who themselves have suffered from drug use. RIC - Rose is a non-profit, non-political and non-government organization registered with the Government of Nepal.
